Examine attended the annual Miller Thomson Construction Law Conference
Represented by its president Francis Sirard, senior consultant Jason Kramar and consultant Malek Soubra, Examine had a great experience attending the Miller-Thomson’s annual construction law conference that took place on March 10, 2020 at the DoubleTree By Hilton Montreal. This day-long event brought together various stakeholders in the construction industry and real estate sector in Quebec.
In addition to many interesting topics keeping appraised of the most recent developments in the industry, the presentations underscored the major factors behind construction disputes and how to avoid or overcome them.
Sixteen presenters of experienced lawyers and associates at Miller-Thomson shared their knowledge and experience in regard to 1) the scope and limitations of amendment clauses in contracts 2) the invitations to tender since the enactment of the Public Procurement Authority 3) the scope of exemption clauses and 4) the risk-sharing related to soil conditions in construction contracts. The event was concluded by presenting recent court decisions in the construction industry from Quebec jurisprudence, and by sharing tips and factors to be considered as to how to select a claim expert.
Examine would like to thank Miller-Thomson for organizing a wonderful and successful event. We look forward to being back at future events!
